Vojta ("voy-ta") therapy is popular in Europe as a rehabilitation treatment to stimulate amd rehabilitate the deep muscle systems of the spine and extremities. Originally developed by Czech pediatric neurologist Vaclav Vojta to treat cerebral palsy, this system of analysis and therapy is used effectively to treat developmental delays in childhood, spine pain in adolescents (especially scoliosis), and adults with chronic pain. Vojta involves a system of analysis for babies and toddlers up to 18 months of age allowing you to gauge key body developments (rolling, crawling, walking) in your child. This important analysis is rarely if ever performed at your pediatrician's office but is common in Europe. Dr. Cohen has studied this technique extensively in Germany and the Czech Republic and is only the 2nd doctor in North America to be certified in Vojta therapy.
